ABOUT NIKOLE MILLER, ATTORNEY
At a young age, Nikole Miller discovered her passion for helping others—mainly those who struggled to help themselves. And having been raised in Detroit, Michigan, she experienced firsthand how systemic inequalities can impact a community in need. Although she knew becoming an attorney would allow her to do everything she wanted and more, that felt like a “dream job” to young Nikole.
Fortunately, by the time she reached college, she realized that her dream job was more than achievable. She graduated with Honors in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Michigan—Ann Arbor. She then went on to graduate Cum Laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law where her dreams of becoming an attorney finally came to fruition.
Today, she represents clients involved in employment and labor disputes. For instance, when an employer discriminates against an employee based on their race, sex, or disability, Nikole steps in to fight for that employee’s rights. Advocating for the civil rights of others is her passion. She is extremely grateful to help her clients maneuver through the taxing—and inequitable—legal system.
Prior to her employment at Wenzel Fenton Cabassa, P.A., Nikole spent her career advocating for various other communities in need. For several years, she worked tirelessly as a public defender. Nikole knew that in order to support underrepresented communities, she needed to learn what the communities truly needed. Nikole’s clients most appreciated her genuine care, the time that she put into each and every one of her cases, and her ability to secure favorable outcomes such as a dismissal of all charges prior to trial.
In addition to her criminal defense experience, Nikole has also clerked at the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida and Southern Legal Counsel—two of the top civil rights organizations in the state of Florida. Prior to that, she facilitated creative writing and theatre workshops in state, federal, and even Brazilian prisons. Leading workshops in Brazilian prisons, hospitals, and favelas was an experience Nikole will never forget. She is grateful her path led her to where she is today.
When Nikole isn’t working, she enjoys studying Spanish, playing various types of games, and even DIY projects. Although Nikole has been studying Spanish since middle school, she is on a current Duolingo streak of well over 900 days and counting. Nikole is also grateful to come from a family who shared with her their love for games. When a family game night isn’t an option, Nikole loves to play word and number games such as Ruzzle and Sudoku. And although she rarely has time for DIY projects, she loves a good opportunity to be creative whenever possible.
